Carl Fountain, an upright, unbending man of integrity and truth, receives a vision that leads him on a journey that starts just east of the Eden Desert of Iraq. During his pilgrimage, his wife is brutally killed by a demon. Carl is retrieving an ancient sword called Solence, which once guarded the gates of the Biblical Eden after man's fall. Later, the sword could be traced to the slaying of Goliath by a thirteen-year-old shepherd boy; then to Peter, who cut off the ear of a Roman soldier upon Christ's arrest in the Garden of Gethsemane. Finally, it rests in Carl's hand, having cost his wife's life in a gruesome death and could easily cost him his own. The Fallen Ones, a group of satanic worshippers who invoke spells and raise demons to attack Carl, are the adversaries. Controlled and possessed by Satan and his legion of demons, they would stop at nothing to control the sword's power. The battle rages in the heart of Sunny Slope, Arizona. Many innocent lives are taken. Carl becomes hunted by the law as well as the Fallen Ones. He is betrayed by the woman he believes loves him and comes close to death several times. With the righteousness of Solence and the truth he holds dear, the victory is his, but not without bloodshed, heartache, and pain.
