Autorenporträt
Adam Wood is a retired U.S. Army veteran, NICU dad and published author who's written four children's books about prematurity and the NICU. Adam's passion for writing came after his son was born premature weighing just 1 pound and 4 ounces at 25 weeks old and found very little books on the subject. He released, "Our Preemie Adventure" in 2021 to help families during their NICU stay and navigate NICU life. The book celebrates the milestones families achieve as they work towards going home from the NICU. In 2021, he also founded Preemie Adventures the website and social media accounts. Adam uses his website to connect families with a variety of resources and support systems all over the world. This includes non-profits, books, podcasts and other helpful resources as they navigate their NICU adventures. His social media account has also helped to provide humorous, cheerful and uplifting content to families all over the world. He enjoys sharing their stories and providing a positive outlet for families to share their voice to the world. In 2022, he discovered his co-author, Dr. Prem Fort, through social media which sparked the idea to write more children's book together. They released "Our Respiratory Adventure: A NICU Story" and "A NICU Christmas Adventure" late in 2022. Their hope is to educate families about life in the NICU and bring cheer through their funny yet educational storytelling. Adam continues to focus on supporting families today and especially NICU Dads. He hopes to bring more support and understanding through his public speaking about the struggles of men during and after the NICU.
