Karen C.P. McDermott grew up reading historical romance novels and dreamed of one day writing them. She later discovered the fantasy romance genre and realized that making up worlds was more fun than doing historical research, and a new calling was born. The Last Triumvirate is her debut novel. When not writing, Karen makes wine, gardens, does pottery, and conducts scholarly research on 'trash talk.' She's been cited as an expert on this topic by ESPN and the BBC.
