This book brings out some of the rules governing charter party contracts in Cameroon as defined by its national legislations as well as other duly ratified treaties or international conventions. The law on charter party is vast, complex and developing thereby making an in-depth study into the subject matter imperative. This helps us to establish the rights and obligations involved in the contract and the relationship between the bill of lading and charter party. Also, it establishes a confident approach in the resolution of disputes arising from charter party and how to put together a charter, by working through the terms and key points relating to charter party. It therefore elucidates clearly and concisely on the rules governing charter party contracts in Cameroon vis-à-vis the various pieces of legislations applicable in Cameroon. It seeks to analyse the legal issues relating to charter parties by examining them in a logical manner, progressively tracing the subject from its creation to its termination and the possible remedies available in case of breach of any obligation.
