Autorenporträt
Debra Patterson is a native of California and a veteran of traditional radio. She was raised by her loving Mother and stepfather which traveled throughout California in search of different business opportunities. Her parents owned and operated several Restaurant's and Furniture stores throughout California. Growing up in a business environment Debra learned at an early age that the path to your dreams and goals are hard work and dedication. She gained her knowledge of business and marketing skills through her experiences while working alongside of her parents (Hard Knocks School) as her mother use to call it. She started a career in real estate management at an early age and continued in that career until a friend of hers offered her a job at a local radio station in Idaho in 1999. She worked her way up to management fairly quickly and retired as General Manager in 2011 and after 13 years of dedication to the station she decided it was time to retire. Debra came out of retirement in early 2016 after speaking with a family member about a book they were writing. She was so inspired by the idea of writing books that she thought a children's book would be inspiring to her grandchildren. That's when the idea came to her that she could utilize the characters (The OOG's) she had created in early 1999 prior to starting work with the radio station Debra is married with two sons, four step daughters, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She explains, my children inspire me to be a better- ME! And' to view life with a smile. That is one of the reasons I wanted to write children's books.
