Hong Kong is an impressive city. But there is a world beyond the impatient traffic and chic shopping malls: an older place of soot-blackened temples, traditional street markets and colonial-era museums. Travel twenty minutes out of the metropolis, and you'll find stone-laid trails, sheltered beaches and waterfront restaurants galore. The 33 walks in this book can each be completed in an afternoon - leaving ample time for leisurely hike to be followed by leisurely dinner.

Autorenporträt
Born in London, travel writer Pete Spurrier arrived in Hong Kong in 1993 after a two-year overland journey along the Silk Road from Europe to China. Expecting to stay in the then-British colony for only a month, he soon found himself beguiled by Hong Kong's cosmopolitan character and wild scenery, and he has been based in the city ever since. In books, he has written The Serious Hiker's Guide to Hong Kong, The Leisurely Hiker's Guide to Hong Kong and The Heritage Hiker's Guide to Hong Kong, all of which have been published in multiple editions.
