Franco Ferrucci (1936-2010) was an Italian novelist and critic, a professor of Italian at Rutgers University, and a noted Dante scholar. Of his many books, The Poetics of Disguise: The Autobiography of the Work in Homer, Dante, and Shakespeare, is also available in English translation.
