Robert Southney (1774-1843) has written an extensive biography of Lord Nelson, one of England's most famous navy heroes. Nelson was instrumental in the Napoleonic Wars especially the Battle of Trafalgar. Nelson was a great commander able to inspire and bring out the best in his men. After being wounded in the Battle of Trafalgar, his last words were "Thank God I have done my duty." This is a good reference work for anyone interested in British naval history.

Autorenporträt
Robert Southey (12 August 1774 - 21 March 1843) was an English poet of the Romantic school, and Poet Laureate from 1813 until his death. Like the other Lake Poets, William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Southey began as a radical but became steadily more conservative as he gained respect for Britain and its institutions. He is remembered especially for the poem "After Blenheim" and the original version of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears".
