Author of contemporary stories about ordinary people caught up in extraordinary events, Anona Rooke is drawn to remote parts of the British Isles and Europe, places where the landscape and weather still shape the lives of the communities that live there. She grew up deep in the woods of eastern England, but later stepped out of the trees to settle on a windswept moorland in the west country.
