Professor and writer James De Mille (1833-1880) was a Canadian known for both his scholarly contributions and his fiction writings. He was educated at Acadia University and Brown University in the United States after being born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. De Mille's area of expertise was teaching English literature and classics. Even though he was a successful writer. De Mille struggled with money throughout his life. In addition to being a writer, he was a professor and teacher at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. James De Mille tragically passed away unexpectedly in 1880 at the age of 47, ending his life. But even after his passing, people read and enjoyed his writings, leaving a lasting literary impact.
