In our first publication in the "EUE", European University Editions, we talk about;" The Local Content Approach is a guarantee and one of the levers of sustainable development for all countries rich in renewable and non-renewable (exhaustible) natural resources (the case of the DRC). We would like to draw the attention of our readers to the fact that many African countries have adopted local content legislation in order to create links (spill-over effects) between mining and the rest of their economy. In this way, they are trying to integrate the discourse that local content policies can counteract the effects of the resource curse. Thus, through this reflection, we have been able to analyse the implementation of local content policies in the DRC, their potential to create spillover effects and their limitations. Although the debate on local content is very recent at the level of the DRC state, there is no clear definition of this word, hence its added value.
