THE LONGING LUTE The Longing Lute is an anthology of poems written over a century ago by Prof. M.U. Malkani and T.H. Advani during their time in Sindh, in pre-partition India. Through their poetic genius, they explore the intricate tapestry of love, and its power to evoke opposing yet inseparable ideas of happiness and heartache. This second edition has been published to preserve and extend the legacy of these writers and share their poetic genius with a wider readership, that it so richly deserves. In preserving these timeless verses, we invite readers to experience the enduring power of language that transcends time and echoes emotions-both personal and profound. The Longing Lute is a collection of 49 poems including: * The Unresponded Call * The Lass I Love * Spring Blossoms * Fragments * The Rural Nymph * The Forlorn Flute * "'Twas Only a Rose" * Eyes Need Eyes * Loneliness * The Huller's Song * Across The Sea * The Bird and The Beast * The Simplest Things * A Cup of Cocoa * A Harlot's Heart and more...
