Balbir Madhopuri has given Punjabi Dalit aesthetics a visibility which it previously lacked. His numerous books and poems have been translated into Indian as well as foreign languages. He is Editor, Yojana (a Punjabi monthly) and Deputy Director (News), All India Radio, New Delhi. Tripti Jain has taught political science in Government College, Ajmer for more than thirty years. A freelance translator, she has worked for Sahitya Akademi, National Book Trust, and Indian Institute for Indian Languages, Mysore. Harish Puri retired as Professor, B.R. Ambedkar Chair, Department of Political Science, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar.
