This book is not about religion, yet I would not be able to tell the story if we left out the most important part of how Grant was able to get through those tough times. Scripture is quoted in this book. Without Grant knowing Jesus and having a personal relationship with Him, it could have been a different outcome. After all, he knows about grief and sorrow as he experienced himself the day upon the cross when he called out to his father. "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?" This book is not about religion, yet I would not be able to tell the story if we left out the most important part of how Grant was able to get through those tough times. Scripture is quoted in this book. Without Grant knowing Jesus and having a personal relationship with Him, it could have been a different outcome. After all, he knows about grief and sorrow as he experienced himself the day upon the cross when he called out to his father. "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?" So for anyone who doesn't know Jesus as there Saviour, turn to the back of this book if you would like to know Him. I have written a simple prayer for you to say and may you experience the freedom Grant did even while going through tragedy, for Jesus will never forsake you, just keep your eyes on Him for he is the way the truth and life everlasting. Always remember God made us. Take a look inside and see the person you were created to be. So if you're keen, let's go and start the journey so grab a drink, put your feet up and let's get closer to our Jesus. After all, that is why He paid the price. There is no intention to convert you, just be open and you too will find Jesus real and will live a more purpose filled, peaceful, powerful, fulfilled life. In this story, Damion Grant's son is referred to as Dame.

Autorenporträt
I was born in Wellington New Zealand and grew up in Titahi Bay, a beach about twenty five kilometers, north of Wellington. I spent most of my youth at the beach, surfing. I wasn't what you would call academic. My time was spent most of the time being involved in the local Surf Lifesaving Club, riding in trucks, watching heavy earth moving machinery, surfing, getting drunk or wasted. I had lots of good times and lots of not so good times. For me there had to be more. I was going through my first communion in the beginning of my schooling years and well, let's just say it didn't do much for me, I knew there was more! After a bit of time in Australia, I returned home still young however, and after having had my heart broken while away, I figured in time to settle down (it is easier said than done). I met a wonderful young lady, Col. We had four children, two boys and two girls. Life was good but the only thing was, I couldn't see the damage being done by me. One day I went to a church. The only reason I went was because the pastor was into surfing, had a Harley and had ridden it inside the church so I thought that's different and went for a look. While I was there I had my first encounter with Jesus. I never did realize until many years later, it dawned on me. I had to change! As I have gotten older, I have learned life is not always fair however, I have also learned mostly through brokenness that pain is not God's fault, yet he gets blamed! I have learned that grace and love is available even when we don't deserve it. A part of me was lost when Damion died although, I am so thankful for my three children who have stood by their Dad, always giving me their love. Now as life goes on, I find myself loving being called Pop as I have two grandchildren. They are both a blessing to me, as are all my children who are all grown up now. My desire is for you to find the peace I have been given and the grace that helped me carry on getting through with life. This is ongoing and all this is about having a relationship with Jesus. He's waiting as I've found out I've had to make a choice.
