"The Lost Children" is an eye-opening book about children with autism, Down syndrome and other developmental disabilities who have elopement or wandering issues. It is a fact that many children with autism have elopement issues, which means that they attempt to wander away or take off from safe areas in the presence of their caregivers without regard to their safety. This is extremely dangerous and puts an enormous amount of stress on parents of these children.

Autorenporträt
Debra Sweeting was born in Hartford, Connecticut but grew up in Wellington, FL. She began her writing career as a children's book author after successfully creating custom social stories to help her daughter diagnosed with Down-syndrome and Autism (DS-ASD), better understand and adapt to various social situations, behaviors, concepts and skills. It became clear to Debra that society at large also needed to gain a better understanding of what life is like through her daughter's eyes. Debra is the author of INCLUSION ISLAND, THE LOST CHILDREN and DREAMS MANIFESTED which is her inspirational autobiography. She resides with her daughter Alana on the sunny Treasure Coast of Florida. Things that make her happy include: planning children's parties, ice cream cake with chocolate crunch in the center, vegetable gardening, painting and discovering the great outdoors.
