The book, The Lost City of Zanterra was written by the author when she was 11. She was inspired by the places around her, such as museums and libraries. From there, she came up with a plot that included her inspirations, and began writing. The novel tells a story of adventure and fun, and reminds us that it is never too old for an adventure. Author JingYue (Emily) Zhang was born in Inner Mongolia, China in 2012. When she was 3 years old, the author and her family moved to the United States, where she has been living ever since. Emily enjoys various hobbies during her free time such as taking long walks, playing volleyball, doing speech and debate, and of course, writing. The novel, The Lost City of Zanterra is her first novel, which she published at the age of eleven. She hopes to write, illustrate, and publish even more books in the future.
