Paul Staples was born in 1935 in Chichester, Sussex. His school education was in Bracondale Private School, Norwich. He worked as a marine engineer, domestic appliance engineer and highspeed packaging engineer. His favourite activities are motoring, sailing and model making ¿ steam engines and boats. He has special skills in the full use of all lathes and milling machines ¿ both in metal and wood. He is a widower, has one daughter and lives in Worstead, North Walsham.
