The book attempts to address the practice of widow care in a luo perspective. It has examined how widow care was practiced among the Luo people and compares it with the biblical teaching on the same. It further outlines the challenges that confront the widows and how they can be handled and the way forward on how to empower the widows. It intends to help the church understand the concept of widow care in a biblical perspective. The emphasis is on the role of the church, family members and children towards the practice of widow care. It points out the responsibilities of the children to their parents and grand children to their grandparents as stipulated in the scripture. The viewpoint contained in this volume is more than a general Christian viewpoint but rather expounds on the relevant biblical teachings in the light of the practice of widow care. The study of this book is based on 1Tim.5:3-5 which came as a result of how widow care is being practiced in the society today. The exegesis of the text was exposing the deeper understanding of Paul's instruction to Timothy to pass on this instruction to the Ephesians' Christian church.
