When young Dylan O'Conner looks in the mirror at his Fuller, Nebraska, home, he sees a normal eight-year old boy who enjoys hearing stories from his Grandma Ruth about town magic that supposedly took place 150 years ago. But before long, reality proves that these stories are not merely whimsical tales of wonderment. They are, in fact, entirely true. Grandma Ruth reveals to Dylan that he is the coveted child: the one who has the birthright to revive the missing magic of Fuller. She teaches Dylan to perform miraculous feats, like healing injured animals and people. But soon, Dylan is forced to more quickly advance his new-found talent because the evil, witch-hating Cleansers have arrived. They boldly bring hostages, flames and murder into play, as they endeavor to purify humanity of witchcraft. Will Dylan's skill increase in the nick of time to the level of a good and powerful wizard? Will he become a town hero or a victim of trial by fire? Will Mallette's writing is inspired by a spiritual life and a wonderful wife. He has already completed Books Two and Three in his fantastical Fuller trilogy. Mallette was raised in Orwell, Vermont, and now lives in Lawton, Oklahoma. His talents include playing the guitar and performing gospel music.
