Haruki Murakami is a contemporary Japanese novelist who has often been named as a potential Nobel Prize candidate. This book analyses Murakami's usage of magic realism in his short stories: "Super Frog Saves Tokyo", [sic] "The Ice Man", "The Rise and Fall of Sharpie Cakes", "Where I am Likely to Find It" and "The Little Green Monster." Tinged with the magical, Murakami probes into the psyche of modern man.
