If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there... - Ps. 139:8 (A psalm of David) A causal reading of the psalms of King David will give you a glimpse into the colorful, and yet complex life of the one God calls 'a man after my own heart'. What we know about David regarding what he felt and thought during some of the most difficult times of his personal life we know simply because he told us. David shared his pain and his moments of praise in prose and in psalms for his generation. Through preservation of Holy Scripture we too gain insight in to the life of David. Just about every house I've ever seen has more than one window. The windows are generally placed in strategic places of the home to provide natural light and wonderful views to the outside world. Those same windows however, also provide a view into the inside of the home. Each window provides a different view of the inside of the home. Anyone who has the ability to look in can not only see the inside of the home, but one could get a sense of the lives of those who live there. Like David, Courtney Hawkins has chosen to share some of her most intimate trials, thoughts and triumphs. Courtney not only brings you to the window of her life, but in some cases she brings you in the room! I was blessed, to be in one of the rooms. I watched God, as in the case of David, "be there" for her as He has for so many down through the ages. Courtney does a remarkable job of marrying pain, principle and purpose in this book. The "make up" of Courtney Hawkins is that of one, who through sheer strength of will, finds a way to live through it all! From brokenness to blessedness, Courtney's testimony is nothing short of a miracle. She has reached a place in her own healing process to be a blessing to someone else. Reading this book will allow you to see your own 'makeup', and learn how natural beauty is still beauty. I'm very proud of her efforts in this first book. This book is an example of how to "provide answers for mankind's problems that will lead to abundant living."Pastor Darrell L. FairerFaith Bible Tabernacle, Buffalo, NY
