This book focuses on Freud's contributions to the understanding of the male psychic subject in Freudian theory and is intended for young readers, beginners in the great ocean of this rich science named Psychoanalysis. This book, introductory to psychoanalytic concepts, aims to answer some very frequent questions among young people, new readers, who are in the education process, such as, for example, how Freud understands the male subject constitution? How do drive and desires appear? What would be the castration complex and its intrinsic relationship with the Oedipus complex in the male subject? From these issues, I invite you to make a historical digression, returning to Freud's main works for answering to the questions above. The author points out that even a century after Freud's discoveries, Psychoanalysis has never been so present in the everyday scene, shining its knowledge to the new understanding of the social, educational and organizational phenomena. However, its primary source still is the clinic and this will be the starting point of this introductory book, returning to Freudian classic metapsychological texts, interlinking them with the understanding of contemporary psychoanalysts of Latin America.
