For satisfy both the needs of consumers and to streamline efficiency of production, circulation and consumption of goods, assortment offer of goods on the consumer market must be optimal: in balance satisfy needs of consumer and interests of producers (suppliers) and of the retail sellers of goods, requirements of the society and of environmental protection. Formation and maintenance of the optimal offer of goods are only possible within complex system of management of commercial assortment of consumer commodities (CSMCACC). In this work is present for the first time basic component of CSMCACC: nomenclature of 18 special functions and 10 specific functions, the definition and specific content (the aim, objectives, elements), area of application of each special functions, the description of some important elements of some special functions of CSMCACC: 3 laws, 2 forms, 2 types and 2 modes of development, 23 properties and qualitative and quantitative indices of commodity assortment. The work is recommended to specialists, concerned with the production and marketing of consumer goods, students and teachers at the specialties of production, trade and commodity science (merceology).
