David A. Jardine was raised in rural Iowa and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa. He worked as a teacher and served in both the U.S. Army and Navy. Jardine, who has written four other novels, lives in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
