Autorenporträt
I have been writing for as long as I can remember. When I was 14 years old I decided I would write a sonnet every day for the rest of my life. I made it to 42, after nine months. But then I wanted to be a major league baseball player. Unfortunately, All but a couple of these masterpieces were lost in a basement flood while I was away at college. That is probably for the best. A gentle reader might imagine them to be better than they were. The poet William Blake's illuminated manuscripts always impressed me. I remember sitting in the special collections section of the Michigan State University library reading a facsimile copy of The Four Zoas. I understood all the words, but none of the emanations. Still, I wanted to illuminate my own pieces. Without the talent or patience to be an engraver, I turned to photography and computer graphic design. The pictures here are not intended to illustrate, but to function as a metaphor to the content. I hope you find them interesting. Oh, and the baseball thing, that didn't last very long either.
