Brazil first started writing when she was 10 years old. She and her close childhood friend Leila Langdale made a magazine based on the children's magazine Little Folks, which Brazil loved at the time. There were riddles, short stories, and poems in the "publications'' of the two girls. In their magazines, both girls wrote serials. Brazil's was called "Prince Azib."
