This book can be used by both teachers and students. It is designed to be used in conjunction with the textbook, The Mantle: How To Dress For Success In Leadership by Jim Biscardi Jr., published by Mantle Ministries in 2009. This Guide and Workbook provides a set of questions for the students in the Student Workbook Section and the corresponding answers in the Teacher¿s Guide and Answer Sheet Section. This arrangement facilitates both a self-study course as well as a classroom teaching setting. As Elijah anointed Elisha to take his place, similarly, Jesus anoints every believer. As Elijah cast his mantle upon Elisha, so Christ casts the mantle of the Holy Spirit upon us. Just as Elisha, who wanted a double portion of Elijah¿s spirit, was required to keep his eyes upon Elijah, likewise we go in the power of the Holy Spirit, and we keep our mind stayed upon our great High-Priest, Servant-Leader, who is the Lamb upon the throne. While we have the Holy Spirit mantle, God leads us into the desert of learning as He did Christ, Moses, Paul and other great biblical heroes who became servant-leaders. The Great Fisher of Men leads us often into deep waters where only Christ¿s outstretched, nail-driven hands provide the strength to keep serving others. We learn that it was not the nails that held Christ to the cross. Through it all, He presses into us the servant-leader qualities of self-sacrifice, faithfulness, endurance, patience and love. ¿King-priest¿ MANTLE leadership excellence may be difficult to attain and require our utmost attention and energy. It will certainly go against our human nature. Its value may not be recognized at first ¿ just as Christ was not recognized by the religious leaders of His day. The downward spiral, however, of our vital enterprises, speaks loudly that we most certainly must continuously strive to improve the quality of our leadership performance. The other ¿mantles¿ being worn by leaders are frayed and unraveling. What greater goal is there for a workplace manager, pastor, deacon, teacher, parent, coach, leader than to follow in the path of the Master Manager, King of kings and Lord of lords, who is also the Lamb upon the throne? This book is designed to help us discover and emulate one of the greatest untapped riches in Christ - a way to lead people - a powerful leadership style that He left us as a legacy of His ministry here.
