This is fictional story based on true accounts. Upon the dawn of WWII, the unfortunate fate of many young children placed them in an Italian orphanage. These children found themselves in a depressed environment with lack of parental love or proper aliment or essential needs. Without the proper guidance or care, three young boys manage to escape the orphanage on their own. After a close encounter with death, they are miraculously taken in by an elderly couple who lived on a farm in the mountains of central Italy. The benevolent couple graciously provide the boys with a new worldly encounter, one of kindness and love. And compassionately they raise them into young adulthood. Autorenporträt
Marco Collina - BioBorn in the New York City area and I am proud to be of the Beatles generation. I spent my formative pre-adolescent years living in Rome where I spent a lot of time with my grandparents and extended family. I learned a lot of the Italian culture and still carry it with me today. My name is Marco, I crossed the Atlantic Ocean by passenger ship at the age of 10 and I remember well the encounter with Lady Liberty as I arrived at New York Harbor, as well as the bold impression of American automobiles. I started to work at the age of 14 in the international shipping trade and have continued the same field throughout my life. I lived on Long Island most of my adult life and I've spent a lot of time close to or on the ocean, as this was the place I could always find my soul and attain peace. I have recently started to write as it helps me in learning to know myself and to spend time with my inner child.
