He tried new things with his later works, like "The Ambassadors," "The Wings of the Dove," and "The Golden Bowl." James frequently wrote about his characters' thoughts and feelings as well as their relationships with others in a way that layered or juxtaposed reasons and impressions that were not clear or logical. People have said that his late works are like impressionist paintings because of the way they are put together and how they create a unique sense of uncertainty.
