Sarah Joseph is a critically acclaimed contemporary writer in Malayalam literature. Recipient of the Sahitya Akademi Award, Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award, and the Vayalar Award, among others, she has to her credit, five novels and eight collections of short stories. Her novel, Othappu: The Scent of the Other Side (OUP), won the Vodafone Crossword Award for Indian Language Fiction Translation in 2009.
