This paper describes an investigation based on Ethnomathematics. This approach, based on its remarkable and comprehensive approach, seeks to demonstrate the ways in which a more productive and lasting teaching practice can be implemented. The aim is to reveal the mathematical knowledge preserved by the miners who live on the outskirts of the municipality of Matupá-MT, particularly those who did not attend school until the end of secondary school.
