Clive Cussler, geb. 1931, konnte bereits achtundzwanzig aufeinander folgende 'New-York-Times'-Bestseller landen seit er 1973 seinen ersten Helden Dirk Pitt erfand, und ist auch auf der deutschen Spiegel-Bestsellerliste ein Dauergast. 1979 gründete er die reale NUMA, um das maritime Erbe durch die Entdeckung, Erforschung und Konservierung von Schiffswracks zu bewahren. Er lebt in der Wüste von Arizona und in den Bergen Colorados.
Thomas Perry, geboren 1947 in Tonawanda, New York, hat zahlreiche Kriminalromane verfasst und wurde mit dem renommierten 'Edgar-Allan-Poe-Preis' ausgezeichnet.
