'The meanings of river bathing in Manaus and its socio-environmental relations' provides a panoramic view of how Manaus has urbanised. It describes river bathing, which for years has been a form of local leisure, from a perspective based on the identity, culture and tradition of its people. The Dourada and Ponta Negra beaches are meeting places in the waters where diversity and differences cohabit.From these two river beaches, the meanings given by the subjects to this leisure were investigated, as well as analysing the socio-environmental relations imbricated in this practice.
