A pesar de ser hijas, esposas y madres, Patria, Minerva y María Teresa desafiaron la norma y se enfrentaron valientemente a la dictadura, participando en actividades secretas contra el gobierno. Eran cariñosamente llamadas "Las Mariposas" por su comunidad, y sus acciones tuvieron un impacto duradero en su país mientras luchaban por la libertad. Aunque no vivieron para ver los resultados de su valentía, su inquebrantable coraje en la lucha por la justicia no se vio afectado por la incertidumbre del futuro. Raynelda creció en la República Dominicana, con una dieta saludable de novelas románticas, tiras cómicas, los libros de Gabriel García Márquez y otra literatura. Tiene un doctorado en liderazgo y actualmente es bibliotecaria. Su tiempo libre lo pasa pensando en escribir (y enlazando pensamiento y escritura en la práctica). Siendo bibliotecaria e hispana, su trabajo con niños la inspira a divulgar los logros de las hispanas en la historia, en especial las de su país natal. Raynelda espera poder poder inspirar a la juventud lectora a seguir sus pasiones y nunca aceptar un no como respuesta. Este es su cuarto libro infantil.
