Autorenporträt
Facing retirement at the age of 76, I knew exactly how I would spend my golden years, and knew I had a lot to learn. I joined critique groups, attended seminars and classes, and found my mantra: Don't get it right; get it written. My first manuscript began as a one-page assignment for my creative writing class. Legacy is a tale of family rivalry, domestic abuse, mystery, and love. My protagonist and her story have grown in depth and complexity along with the author who created them. We're still getting it right. The uncertainty of the covid pandemic prompted me to stop editing and take the leap to publish my first book. The Miracle Known as Ed Levine is fiction based on the life my friend trusted me to pen. From his birth in London during World War II to facing terminal cancer at the age of 62, his is an inspiring story of survival. Anny & Me is a memoir of my unique friendship with my Taiwanese soul sister. We found that our cultures and our lives are similar despite geographical distance. The story is a tribute to my special friend. My friends Sam and Marilyn Gray experienced a nightmare that is never ending. Their true story is told from Sam's point of view in The Injustice System, It Can Happen to You, a frightening account of our government's power.Currently I am working on two more books and participate in writing seminars, classes, and critique groups. If it happens, I write it. If I contemplate it, I write it. If I find a willing reader, I am honored to share my passion. I believe that it's never too late to follow your dream. I'm doing it.
