"Even without drumbeats, banana leaves dance" Meg Aku Sika De Amasi is an African Poet and author based in Stirling Scotland. She continues to dance and thrive, writing poems that resonate with her African and Scottish heritage she shares in her latest book, The Moonlight Dreams. Keen on women and equality issues, she founded the African Caribbean Women Association- ACWA. She was also one of the main movers and first Chair of Meridian - First Black and Ethnic Minority Women Project in Glasgow. She is an award winning community activist and campaigner. Awarded "Take Action Award" 2013, by Sheila McKecnie Foundation (SMK) sponsored by Age UK on Sickle Cell Disease Campaign in Scotland. In 2014, she received Stirling Council Provost's Civic Award for her outstanding contributions to the communities in Stirling. Meg qualifies herself as a Lifter, Enabler and a Giver, empowering, particularly, women and children to maximise their life chances. She sees herself as a social engineer and entrepreneur.
