Autorenporträt
Paul Carpenter is a celebrated former advertising creative who has been recognised at prestigious events like Cannes, The London International Festival, and The One Show. Paul draws inspiration from his childhood in the UK when children's TV shows didn't rely on high production values and CGI but were hand-drawn frame by frame with simple, honest stories and charming, likeable characters. Mary, Mungo and Midge, Danger Mouse, Mr. Benn, Captain Pugwash, Paddington Bear, and Ivor the Engine, to name a few. The pace was so much more peaceful and charming. Having moved to Australia over 30 years ago, Paul has fully embraced Australian Christmas traditions, including the beach, prawns, surfing Santas, and Boxing Day BBQs. However, there is always a part of him that still reminisces about a UK Christmas. If it hadn't snowed by Christmas Eve, there would always be a real sense of anticipation that we would all wake up to a serene, magical, white landscape on Christmas morning. It was almost as if it wasn't Christmas Day without snow, snowmen, and a family snowball fight before hot porridge and tea for breakfast. Motivated by his children, Holly and Harry, Paul created "The Adventures of Rocky with Holly & Harry." Rocky, a loveable character brings an Australian twist to the conventional snowman and with a magical lease of life takes them on new adventures far and wide. This imaginative children's picture book is perfect for early readers and bedtime stories. It features charming illustrations that captivate young minds and foster a sense of wonder.
