Autorenporträt
DR. ELLEN YAN was born and raised in an academic family in Tianjin, China. She pursued her education at prestigious institutions, including Tianjin Nankai High School, the People's University of China, and Nankai University. In 1988, she came to the United States to pursue a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Iowa. After earning her doctoral degree, she spent over a decade working in the financial industry before founding her own company. Though raised without a religious background, her journey to faith began about ten years after arriving in the United States. In 2000, her family was baptized into Christianity, a transformative moment for them all. Years later, she felt a profound calling to document the stories of early missionaries who dedicated their lives to serving the Chinese people. With guidance from Mrs. Leona Choy, co-founder of Ambassadors for Christ, Inc., Dr. Yan completed this work, dedicating it to the glory of God.
