This taluka is very rich in natural wealth especially enormous water wealth with four major rivers. Doodhganga, Bhogawati, Tulsi & Dhamni. Four major dams were constructed accros these four rivers. Due to this irrigated area was increased in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra state & Chikkodi Taluka in Belgaon district of Karnataka state.
