The feasibility study of the multifunctional cycle route along the Aterno River Valley is a proposal by the Abruzzo Region carried out because of the increase of cycle paths in Italy and in Europe, and in order to provide an answer to both sustainable tourism and local mobility. The research carried out in this direction by the University, to which this study was commissioned, wanted to provide not only the required study but also an innovative and alternative methodology that hypothesized the cycle route as an open system that can be implemented in three directions: in space, over time and in digital management. This strategy was then systematized with the needs of the local community and this led to the achievement of a design matrix that is able to identify the desired level of growth also of a single section of the cycle route. This method, replicable in similar interventions, is the heart of the research in question.
