In the area of educational research the topic of mathematics teaching is of great relevance, it has been developed in multiple research studies, however, by adding to the contextual component the word multigrade, the number of investigations is significantly reduced; the multigrade school is the scenario of development of the present research, under phenomenological study, guided by the interpretive paradigm, whose intention was to understand the way in which the teacher develops the teaching of the Decimal Numbering System (SND) in the multigrade group; content that represents a high degree of abstraction and that, its understanding and mastery, is of vital importance for the development of mathematical content, it is essential that during the process of acquiring the regularities of the SND, students are exposed to activities that provoke reflection, which leads them to establish the regularities of the system.
