In AD 43, the Romans begin their brutal conquest of Britain, and eventually all of the Celtic tribes submit to the Roman way of life. Except, that is for a few rebels of the Coritani tribe, who go into hiding and continue to abide by their own rituals and traditions. However, now because of their self isolation they are unable to maintain their birth rate. Despite all of their efforts their numbers steadily decline, until by the beginning of the 20th century they face extinction. To avoid this from happening they conspire and formulate a diabolical plan, which is to acquire babies, condition them, and raise them as their own. To initiate this plan, two Coritanis are selected to live in the outside world and work ostensibly as journalists, writing human interest articles for a magazine. In the hope that as they do this, they will encounter and engage socially with distressed pregnant girls or women, and entice them to accept 'help'. Meanwhile, as they surreptitiously gather material for their articles, their scrutiny centres on two individuals; Behkorsk and Juliet. A couple who are to become the primarily focus of their observations; commenting upon their romances, triumphs, regrets, frustrations, traumas, adventures, and especially as time goes by, upon the conflicts encountered by Behkorsk, which eventually have a profound emotional, and mental effect upon him. And which remain unresolved for him, until he eventually encounters the Coritanis face to face. As for the Coritanis, eventually they become fearful that Behkorsk and Juliet may have become aware of their true purpose, and will possibly expose them and their diabolical shenanigans. So they need to consider how they can prevent this; where-upon Behkorsk and Juliet disappear, that is, they vanish under mysteriously tantalizing circumstances........ until...........
