The problem of Hazardous Waste (H.W) has been growing everywhere in the world, in particular the developing countries. The problem is not limited to hazardous waste that is locally produced but is extended to include the waste that is subject to illegal transfer to developing countries for final disposal. Therefore, a national strategy has been prepared to manage-in an environmentally sound manner-all types of hazardous waste, that are locally produced in Yemen from the different sources and to control the transboundary movement of hazardous waste in accordance with the regulations of Basel Convention and within the context of Integrated Management Approach. Integrated Management (I.M.) of Hazardous Waste refers to the technical and non-technical procedures and activities carried out throughout the overall life cycle from generation until final disposal, taking into consideration the economic, social, political, legal, and institutional issues together with the technical ones.
