The aim of this book, entitled "Analyzing linguistic skills in the translation process", is to test the hypothesis that translation students and some professional translators present a large number of linguistic problems. To carry out this work, a text was submitted to some translation students and professional translators, with the aim of analyzing the linguistic incongruities that can occur during translation. This analysis took a decidedly linguistic and even sociolinguistic turn. The study, centered on participants in Cameroon, focuses on textual specificity and comprehension, use of visualization, lexical inferences, understanding of syntax, punctuation and more. The results of our work, structured in five chapters, indicate, as we expected, that the linguistic problem is in fact a huge problem in translation. Based on this observation, translations have been made to improve the quality of these proposals, and underline the importance of the linguistic aspect.
