The New African Diaspora in North America brings together sociologists, social workers, geographers, economists, anthropologists and others to explore the African immigrant experience from a multi-disciplinary perspective. The contributors shed light on the factors behind the increasing wave in African immigration to the U.S. and Canada, the socio-economic characteristics of African immigrants, their spatial distribution, obstacles, and contributions.

Kwadwo Konadu-Agyemang is Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Planning at The University of Akron, Ohio. Baffour K. Takyi is Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Akron, Ohio. John A. Arthur is Professor of Sociology and Criminology at the University of Minnesota, Duluth campus and chair of the Sociology and Anthropology Department.
