A new group of kids from different cultures have moved to the town of Sweet Home. On the first day of school, they are introduced to the rest of the class. Though the old students know who they are, they don't play with them because they see them as different. Two students see the problem and bring it to the attention of their teacher. The teacher asks the students to find something they think they have in common with the new students. The two students, together with the teacher, come up with a plan to bring the class together so they can all be friends.

Autorenporträt
Caroline Bouey lived in Paris, France before moving to the sunshine state of California. Traveling and living in many countries in the world, she is inspired by the aspect of the different people and differentcultures. She believes that a child in this world of confusion should be enlightened to love and care for others no matter who they are or where they come from. She wrote this book as a teaching tool. Sometimes different is good and sometimes it can be thesame. In this book, she is picturing the differences between a groupof children, which, in the end, makes no difference to them when they become friends. She believes that the way to break the barrier between cultures is to initiate the first step toward peace and acceptance. The New Kids in Town! is Caroline's first children's book and is also illustrated by her.
