How would you engage with a being who could read your mind? The Mind Travellers is set in the not-too-distant future. An overcrowded earth is struggling environmentally. Corporate dynastic families dominate the world; they see shifting people to other planets as a solution to overcrowding and a way of generating even more wealth for themselves. Dr Zed Eko is the crew psychologist for Space Fleet Command. He boards the spacecraft Sunstreamer before it heads off on a special mission to investigate anomalies on a newly discovered planet, Omega5Z3. The mission turns out to be anything but routine. Arriving at the new planet, Zed and the mission crew meet the Olarians, a human like race with powerful telepathic and telekinetic abilities. Knowing what everyone is thinking makes it difficult to be deceitful. Despite their abilities, the Olarians have problems of their own. Zed forms a relationship with the Olarian leader Olaria, which takes on another dimension when Olaria enables Zed's latent telepathic abilities. From this point Zed's life becomes complicated, and Zed and Olaria become instrumental in influencing the relationship between humans and Olarians. His adventures eschew duplicity, lies, deceits and subterfuge. Phill Boas' thought-provoking science fiction novel leverages the author's experience as a psychologist, management consultant and leadership specialist, as he adroitly explores how society might work, if there were fewer ulterior motives, less deception and less duplicity in people lives. "Phillip's depiction of senior leadership personality traits is masterful. His portrayal of the head of Space Fleet Command has a disturbing degree of reality about it as he lays bare the games and strategies of subterfuge used by senior leaders. The New Mind Travellers is a riveting read because of the values and concepts presented for conducting human relationships."- Francis Thompson

Autorenporträt
Phill was born in Melbourne, Australia. He graduated in Social Work and Psychology from Melbourne University where he completed an honours MA. He began his working life as a Social Worker and Psychotherapist and ended as an Executive Educator at Melbourne Business School. Phill has worked in solving problems and building better relationships with groups of workers on the shop floor to Senior Executive teams in multi-national corporations and in Commonwealth and State Government. During all those years he had also worked as a psychotherapist helping individuals, couples and groups to manage crises in their lives. After finishing this career he decided to become an author and he wrote The New Mind Travellers which sits on the margins of the Science Fiction and Fantasy and The Speculative fiction genre, from which standpoint he believes he is better able to explore marginally unthinkable issues.
