A brewmaster-turned-teacher leaves the city behind to start over in the Middle of Nowhere. When her date is discovered trampled to death, she becomes the top suspect. Will she be able to tie small town secrets together in time to clear her name? Elizabeth Blau upended her life in Seattle to take a teaching job in Banner, a map dot on the Wyoming prairie. She reconnects with her estranged brother and begins a new life. First, Elizabeth finds a job, then a new friend, and even lands a date with a handsome local as her luck seems to change for the better. But when a body is found mangled in a ravine, the murder rocks the small town as fault descends upon the Blau Family. Frustrated with the pace of local law enforcement, Elizabeth investigates loose threads among the ranchers. When she starts to dig into the past, she gets a warning: folks don't like outsiders poking around, and someone is on a mission to chase her out of town. With friends becoming enemies in a place forged for hiding true intentions, she must unravel the accumulating evidence to name the murderer. If she can't organize the proof in time, Elizabeth will become the next target. The New Teacher is the first book in the Sheridan County Mysteries. The Sled Dog releases Fall 2022.
