Somewhat eccentric, he keeps a stuffed python at his front door to scare away intruders, but he likes the children and helps them find the destitute little people. Finally convincing the Faerie to trust them, they take them back to Mr. Peter's house, where many funny things happen. Rob, the twins nemesis and a bully and also Mrs. Bagge's nephew, comes to live with her. He suspects they have found a treasure map, constantly snooping while the twins struggle to keep their secret of the Faerie from his prying eyes. Meantime the Lady Orlata, leader of the little band, tells Mr. Peter and the twins the story of how the Faerie got here, but now they want to go home to their land of Lolibran, they just don't know how. The twins vow to help them, though only after Lynn has a dream that shows the way. But when the time comes, and the Faerie are able to return to Lolibran, Lynn, Lyle, Mr. Peter, their pet companions and unfortunately the bullying Rob, get thrown into Lolibran as well. This time they find themselves in a deadly war with the cannibal witch, Solvieg, and a betrayal by Rob. But that is for book two in the series-'Return to Lolibran and The Witch's Lair'
