The development of agriculture in the north-eastern part of India did not get proper impetuous due to various reasons. This book highlighted the agricultural practices of Garo tribes in relation to Garo Customary Laws and the role of Nokma (Village Headman) in the agricultural activities in Garo Hills, Meghalaya. Nokma has the sole authority to distribute the land to the villagers and also provides guidance in agriculture and other aspects.
